Safety

We take safety seriously! It has been our main priority for improvement over the past 5 years. We are very proud of our current program. We are always looking at ways to improve our safety program. Our top down approach has been well received by our field staff, and is evident by our records.

Last year we proactively created a Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC). We are now ready to double our field staff at a moment’s notice to tackle any projects our clients present. The JHSC has been pivotal in determining our requirements, and needs, for being diligent. This committee has also handled the delivery of safety training to all employees.

By employing LandscapeSafety.com training system it has taken our safety system to the next level. We are now able to show safe workplace practices on a wide variety of equipment and procedures. It also allows us to train new employees faster and reduce the risk of accidents. All field staff is trained in the following.

  • WHMIS (Canada)
  • Fall Arrest
  • First Aid/CPR
  • Stone Saw
  • Plate Compactor
  • Landscape Tractor
  • Skid Steer
  • Mini Excavator
  • Dozer
  • Blower Safety
  • Engines and Fuel Basics
  • Truck and Trailer
  • Personal Safety
  • Trimmer

We self audit our safety program at the beginning of each season. We have a consultant from Workplace Safety and Prevention Services review our health and safety policies to ensure we meet the requirements under the act. They point us in the right direction with respect to the training of our employees. This year we will be implementing there new toolbox meeting program. This will replace our old program with a more diverse topic list, and a more formal delivery.

The following is list of organizations have helped shape our safety program.
